When I first heard John’s Gospel account of the resurrected Christ appearing to Mary Magdalene, I always assumed that Jesus had changed His physical appearance, which is why Mary mistook Him for the gardener.

While studying Exodus, I read a question that struck a chord with me. "Was Moses' focus on his weaknesses always genuine, or was he delaying obedience?" And then I read the words, "Delayed obedience is still disobedience."

“After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.”— Matthew 28:1 (NIV) Several years ago, I heard a piece of advice that has stuck with me: “When you sit down to read the bible, read it with fresh eyes like it is the first time you have ever read it.”

“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.”—Psalm 19:1 (NIV) I’m an animated storyteller on paper, and even more so in person. So, with a huge grin and exaggerated hand gestures, I told a friend about the time God gifted me with a brilliant rainbow.

As a child, I imagined the great big world as a tiny sphere compared to the grandness of Our Father's hands. I would picture myself standing still and steady in the middle of the spinning earth, knowing without a doubt that I was in the loving care of the One who is in control.  

We could all be better at interrupting our schedules or putting down the phone to take notice of someone, especially in our homes. Many adults and children aren’t good at asking for our attention like a spoiled house dog. And at a certain point, after many failed attempts, the ones trying to get someone to notice them give up.
